Give the Gift only a Mother can Give

Once upon a time, there was a totally awesome Man Beast by the name of Danny* who has made a deal with his wife. After a trip to an African village, he grew very frustrated with how materialistic our society has become with the holidays. To quote him: “It was the typical American Christmas—gizmos, gadgets, whatnots, and an oversized helping of turkey.”

So, to combat this mentality, Danny and his wife have decided not to spend any money on each other this year. Instead, they are going to give each other creative, homemade gifts. And we can help! Danny has asked all Mommies from around the blogosphere to send open letters to him – good, bad, ugly – he wants them all. He is going to compile all of these letters and give them to his wife on Christmas Day-as a surprise. That’s right. It’s a secret. Don’t tell Mrs. Danny.

And if that weren’t enough, he’s agreed to give everyone who contributes to this most awesome project a copy of it!

Read about Danny’s story here. Read some already amazing submissions here. Visit his main page to read updates as well as get his email to directly email your letters.

And to my readers who aren’t mothers? You can help too – share the bloggy love and be sure to tell all of your readers about this amazing project. Do you know within the first four days of this project kicking off, Danny received 200 letters?!? This is gonna be huge – and I pray that it blesses Mrs. Danny (as well as all of us who contribute) in a most special way.

Blessings to all of you this Thanksgiving season…

* Danny is not his real name. This is meant to be a surprise for Mrs. Danny. Shhhh.
